It’s the weekend and that means it’s game time! So, what’s happening on the eShop? There’s a bit of a theme this week with Paper Mario’s revamped version of The Thousand-Year Door along with the puzzle-adventure stylings of Paper Trail.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was originally released in 2004 for the GameCube. The revamped Switch release comes just in time for its 20th anniversary, bringing updated visuals and audio along with new characters, battles, and quality-of-life updates. The color and fun of the original remains intact, though, so whether you’re a new or old fan, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’ll be giving our first impressions on this week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast, so stay tuned!

What’s better than one paper-based outing? Two, of course. Paper Trail continues the paper theme with a puzzle-adventure title set in a foldable paper world. You play as the aptly named Paige, folding the world to solve pupzzles and discover secrets.

There’s also some exciting DLC for Dave the Diver this week as Godzilla joins the story. This free DLC features all-new stories and battles, and it’s available now. What makes a good game even better? Well, Godzilla, of course. We’ll be sure to check it out and let you know our thoughts on the Pure Nintendo Podcast as well.

Meanwhile, the Minecraft anniversary sale continues, plus there’s special Paper Mario activities to check it out. In short, it’s another busy week!

There’s plenty more happening so check out the full list of new releases below and let us know which games you’re playing this weekend.

What’s happening on the Nintendo Switch eShop this week? Minecraft is celebrating its 15th birthday with 50% off three titles until June 4. Plus, Braid gets an update and Lorelei takes us on a puzzle-adventure through Europe.

Happy birthday, Minecraft! It’s hard to believe this blocky series has been around for 15 years. It’s easy, though, to see the influence Minecraft has had on gaming culture. Many people grew up with this crafty world, and this month marks the perfect time to celebrate all things Minecraft. With that in mind, there are some decent discounts on existing titles for the Switch, so if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to grab yourself a bargain, this is it!

Meanwhile, Lorelei is a non-linear puzzle affair that presents a third-person adventure about illusions. It sounds like a mysterious, somewhat creepy outing, with an enigma just waiting to be solved.

Remember Braid? If not, that might be because this 2008 title didn’t appear on a Nintendo console. Thankfully, this anniversary edition sets things straight by heading to the Switch. This revamped platformer sounds has been given quite the refresh, with completely new graphics and hours of commentary from the developers.

Did you know it’s been a whole year since Tears of the Kingdom was released? It might be hard to believe so much time has passed, but Nintendo is celebrating by providing a special digital wallpaper and keychain reward. Check it out online via the details below. Oh, and be sure to tune into the Pure Nintendo Podcast on Monday when we revisit Tears of the Kingdom, too.

With that, let’s find out what else has appeared on the Switch eShop. Which games are you playing this weekend?

There’s a lot happening on the Nintendo Switch eShop this week, with Princess Peach: Showtime  debuting on our favorite hybrid system. Joining our pink heroine are two other big hitters in the form of MLB The Show 24 and South Park: Snow Day.

Princess Peach: Showtime! was first teased in a Nintendo Direct last year, with further trailers over the last few months trickling through what we can expect from Peach’s latest solo outing. We enjoyed the demo, and we’ll let you know our thoughts on the full game soon, too. In the meantime, which is your fave of Peach’s transformation powers?

South Park: Snow Day feels like it was a long time coming. It was also teased some time ago, pitting a new kid against South Park’s greatest in what can only be described as one of the best days in a kid’s life: a snow day.

There’s a long list of other titles to check out this week – seriously, there are over 40 – so let’s get to it! Which games will you be playing this week? Let us know!

Nintendo Switch

  • Princess Peach: Showtime! – Join Princess Peach as she steps into the spotlight in her very own single-player action game! Joined by Stella, the theater’s guardian, Peach must save each show and transform to match the performance – becoming Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach, Ninja Peach, Patissiere Peach and more. Each transformation changes up the action and comes with its own abilities for Peach to best save each play and call curtains to Grape’s wicked plans. The Princess Peach: Showtime! game is available March 22, with a free demo available now on Nintendo eShop.
  • MLB The Show 24 – It’s your Show. Ready to own it? Earn your call up from the minors to the big leagues and prove you’ve got what it takes at the top. Hold your nerve when it matters and earn the right to be called World Series champion. Whatever happens, know you left nothing in the dugout. MLB The Show 24 is available now.
  • SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! – Team up with Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny to save the town in this co-op action game. Customize your own New Kid and battle your way through the snow-piled streets of South Park solo or with up to three friends in an all-new story. Equip a variety of weapons and deploy devastating special abilities on an adventure to save the world and enjoy a day without school. SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! launches on March 26. It’s the end of the week, and that can only mean one thing; it’s time to reveal the latest gaming delights to hit the Nintendo Switch eShop. This week’s highlights consist of Pocket Card Jockey and Shiren the Wanderer, two very different titles.

In Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! you’re faced with a cute clash of genres with solitaire and horse racing. Playing your cards right is your key to victory as these chibi-like horses race for the gold. This was originally a 3DS title, now revamped for the Switch.

Shiren the Wanderer, on the other hand, is a roguelike in which death comes swiftly asnd regularly. Don’t that put you off, though; we absolutely loved it in our Shiren the Wanderer review. It involves Shiren and his talking ferret friend, Koppa, receiving a vision of a land in distress, a kidnapped girl, and a promise of riches. It’s certainly one to check out or put on your watch list!

There’s a long list of other releases to tempt your digital wallet this week, so what are you waiting for? Check out the full list below and be sure to let us know which games you’re playing right now. Tune in to the Pure Nintendo Podcast each Monday to find out what we’re playing, too!
